CT scan reveals surgical clips after TT ? Why?

You may make "fun" of the pain people are in,but I do not think it is funny at all. I have had Nurses tell me ,over the years ,that they had seen people that were allergic to Titanium or other kinds of Staples.Sometimes when certain Doctors do not know what to do about a problem,they don't want anything to do with it.

Just because you have been lucky ,it gives you "no right to make fun of people in pain"...Arlene in Oregon

njoynlife, your the crazy one love, and nasty with it, go and njoyyour life and keep out of things that obviously dont concern you, never like to wish misery on people but your nearly my first lol lol its not relevant what your thoughts are the board is about poeple who have reactions to clips, staple etc., you cant cause upset to people because anyone who reads yur post can clearly see who the deluded one is, so do me a favour, hush your nastyness.

perhaps thinking isn't easy for you, were you deprived of oxygen?

njoynlife If you are enjoying in life then why would you disregard someones pain .. Does this help you feel more joy in your life ... how very sad you are ... just because you dont have a reaction to metals does not mean others dont .. we are not all the same and that is what doctors need to wake up and smell including yourself ... you insensitive person .. to live every moment in pain and be told that its in your head only to find out later that it was not in your head, but just outright ignorance from so called intelligent professionals is a very lonely life existence ... Remember this .. once upon a time doctors thought it completely laughable that just by washing their hands they could prevent women dying during childbirth ... that's right these professionals laughed at this crazy idea ... and guess what ?? women continued to die along with their babies because doctors refused to believe one man whom suggested this idea to them ... they said the exact same thing as you just have ... that the man was laughable ... and yep women and their children continued to die because once again man wants to play the big fat ego game ... THEY DON'T WANT TO BE WRONG !!!

Ok How about this. Can the Immune system attack these clips causing the body to go into Graves disease? I ask Because 2 months after my GB was removed(which I knew clips would stay behind) I started having a rapid heart rate and other systems that match up with Hyperthyroidism. Thoughts??

yep here comes the same old same old, I just got diagnosed with pituarity failure, not low cortisol, growth hormone, tsh, prolactin etyc.,m but none, yes steriods for life now, emulates graves disease lymes disease etc., forieng body rejection causes autoammune system to attack its own organs, so all those doubters out there, get real my quality of life was so poor getting a bit better with steriods but cant have a drink, cant ndulge in a curry, cant go out without falling over!!!! i am grateful to be alive but not grateful to be fed bull by consultants, keep strong everyone and keep complaining and get your pituarity gladns checked out, not the best test bit worrying insulin test but so worth it. good luck all xxxxxx

I am having Physio weekly as I have Fibromyalgia which was diagnosed years after having been diagnosed with endometriosis years earlier .. hope I spelt that right and cant eat gluten sugar vinegar coffee ect ect am now on a vegetarian diet and it is helping loads so there you go ... I have clips on my right side after having an operation for endometriosis .. at one stage I could not get any sleep for the pain at night was intense ... I never gave up though and to this day still dont take pain killers as rather work on fixing the cause ... lots of time and effort and i am finally getting there Yoga also does wonders ... Pain really can drive one completely round the twist when it goes on night after night after night for weeks on end .. but there truly is a light at the end of that tunnel so hang in there good luck and never give in there is so much out there in alternative medicine that has given me back my health :-)

You are not alone,only after requesting a copy of my chest xrays for back surgery did i discover there are several sergical clips along a main artery of my heart. From the time i awoke in 2008 from robotic surgery i have been in a debilitating pain that no doctor or cardioligest will address,they put me on 60 mg of morphine a day and said goodby .its been 4 years of hell and i have given up flying,motorcycles,and any activities that make my body shake as the vibration causes the clips to rub against a nerve in my chest wall,they tell me i am crazy now i was a respected member of society untill Divinci Robotic surgery changed my life 2008

I just hate to hear when Doctors dismiss as having something mentally wrong ,when they can't find our Medical problem.I think we are better at just trying to guess at what is wrong with our own body.We are the ones having all the pain..In 13 years I have not found one Doctor that knows what is wrong with me,but I do think it has something to do with all these Titanium Clips inside of me right where most of the pain is located.Mine are so (fine),they can't be seen with xrays or MRI tests.

Maybe someday I will find the correct Doctor.Hope you get better or find help for yourself:)

Scott dont let them dismiss you ... keep at them till they have to actually not only look into your pain further but actually rethink their position on this ... they have been wrong time and time again over the years and they continue to place themselves above those they deem unintelligent ... I would listen to a person who intuitively says something aint right with the doctors point of view over an intellectual point of view anytime... my mother back in the 60s poured a whole bottle of pills down the toilet .. they were for morning sickness ... yes it was that year hundreds of babies were born without arms and legs due to taking morning sickness tablets that the doctors said were completely safe ... my mothers gut instinct told her not to take the pills the doctors gave her .... Scott,you have went this far,so as the other prerson said,don't give up..In my case,I have spent 13 years of running to Doctors and Hospitals,which has done me no good.It finally came to going Bankrupt in 2008 because by that time,I had ran up so many Medical bills,we had no other option.We are  headed toward having to lose our home in the very near future.I watched them build this home 42 years ago and this just makes me sick..My hubby still has to work and he is 75 and has Gout in his feet.He is going to have to quit his job of 43 years in the real near future..We are on Medicare and some Doctors here are not taking Medicare patients any more..

I am so tired of going to these Doctors that do not know what they are doing.They like to rush people out like herds of Cattle.I think they give a person all of 15 minutes...

I guess I just have to keep going to more Doctors until I find one that may know just what is causing all my pain.I can do nothing.Can't even wash my hair as I can't lean over the sink.My pain is just throbbing and 24/7.

Anyway,Scott,never give up.It would be so great to have our lives back,the way it used to be..

scott from pa. it so rewarding to know i am not alone reguarding the pain i have endured from surgery in 2008,all though i can not get any doctor to confide with me that metal left inside of my chest is the reason for life changing pain,@ ionly having 2 years of college i have a question i will propose to all future doctors who dismiss my pain. WHY DID THE COWBOYS HAVE BULLETS REMOVED IF THEY POSED NO THREAT TO A NEARBY ORGAN. My own sumnation is that the body auto imune system takes charge and would cause an infection to that area,so why are we so different 100 years later when our bodys reject metal being inserted instead of cat gut to close a wound or stop bleeding from the surgery. ?Is it so the surgon can go faster and do more than expected in one day. If so slow down and do one surgery at a time and do it correct,this is a value i have been tought all my life should doctors try the same. My heart goes out to all of the sufferes of surgical blunders,and to the na sayers i wish you could walk in the shoes of us who suffer.
