Hi, my mother is 67 years old and he experienced strong headaches several days ago. Also she felt dizziness and vertigo and I decided to take her to the hospital. After few exams doctor told her that it would be the best to make CTA and visit her regular doctor with that results. When she visited her doctor he told her it would be better to make MRA than CTA because of radiation to which she may be exposed in CTA. I am now confused what examination to make.

Hi, my friend also had problem with blood vessels in his head. He made CTA and nothing bad did happen to him. His doctor explained to him that CTA is slightly better method for picturing of blood vessels in the head because it can present smaller blood vessels in better resolution. It is true that CTA has some level of radiation but it is so small that can't make anything bad to you. Both of these methods are excellent for picturing of brain blood vessels.
