The biggest problem with cystic fibrosis is that it creates intensive mucus secretion which can damage many body systems and inner organs. One of them is pancreas. By damaging pancreas, cystic fibrosis directly affects the level of insulin, dropping its level under the minimum we need to function properly, thus causing diabetes.
