I am actually relieved to hear others have the exact symptoms of mine. I am 55 and I have had these same deep deep rectal pressures for the last 4 years off and on. This time it has lasted for a month ad as moved into my lower abdomen area, too. Lately, I have experienced bouts of nausea but not sure if I am causing this from my fear of the unknown. I work out one hour a day and eat extremely well and am on a program with my local club that monitors all food i eat, so physically in excellent shape. Working out seems to relieve the pressure. The best relief comes from standing straight then putting my hands flat on the floor without trying to bend my knees...instant relief from the throbbing which makes me wonder if this could be the sciatic nerve causing the deep internal pressures. I just had a colonoscopy and they found nothing in the colon, rectum or anal area, so cancer of this nature is ruled out. I am going to schedule a deep tissue massage in the glut area and have them work on the sciatic nerve since everything everyone has written over the years hasn't helped, I am going to try something new. I will let everyone know if I find if this works and pleassssssseeee keep this conversation going if anyone finds out something that works. I was in my 20's when I dealt with terrible IBS and doctors told me then that it was all emotional and in my head...right...and now 30 years later IBS is a commonly understood situation. So let's all keep throwing out everything and anything they are trying and answers can be found. My solutions so far: 1. Ibuprofin when I am just sick and worn out from the throbbing...it is an instant fix but we know what long term use of Ibuprofins can do. 2. Deep breathing and trying to de-stress. 3. Stretching and holding moves...

I am glad you are learning to cope with IBS and other symptoms. Your recommendations will help others who are afflicted with IBS. I found that I had fibromyalgia which also brings about IBS. I had this for so many years, I just lived with the daily cramping and loose stools that came about. When I started on Cymbalta for my fibromyalgia, I felt more healthy than ever before! I stopped having IBS symptoms which I am having a time just really letting it sink in that I rarely have flare ups anymore!
Anyone who wants to share their story about their IBS is welcome to do so!
