I also found a narrow dent on my scalp doctor told me it was nothing, going through a very stree full time at the moment so this could be the reason also dehydrated.

Hi there summermae. I have two dents newly developed on either side of a raised middle ridge, halfway of middle point. They're about an inch-2 inches long and fairly deep. I'm 48, female, a bit overweight, but otherwise usually really healthy.

Mine sound just like yours. I'll start on the Vit D. Thanks for the heads up. I'd love to know what triggered this though

I started to this a week ago. Its from my for head all the way to my baby soft spot..and the width of my finger and its getting bigger. I'm a female 29 yo. And the internet has no answers of this. It feels tendar, and hard to explain the other feelings.

Well, I massage my head all the time, and was doing so, and I noticed a dent about an inch at the crown of my head...no hair issues or tenderness, but I have had a gland problem for the past 3 years...however this has happened in the past month, I am 100% sure. I have always had the desire to rub all of my head since when I was younger I hit my head on the floor, and I always want to know...plus if any thing grows I wanted to know.
I recently had an awakening of sorts, and I know this wasn't there before that...I was really scared at first until I realized this was a fairly common problem and doctors and tests don't pick anything up. I will post again if anything changes...I have been radically adjusting my diet also. I just didn't know people could have a dent in their head, much less almost over night! I'm 28, and healthy other than a crushed gland that occasionally gives me problems. My diet was initially to deal with that.
Maybe this is a baby's soft spot thing that develops when we are able to have a higher spiritual prescence? I have no idea. All I know is, I massage every inch of my scalp at least once a week to help my hair grow and I just noticed a very, very noticeable dent in my scalp on the crown that is otherwise benign.
What a bizarre thing! My heart goes out to you all.

I am a 45 year old female. I am also on Levothyroxin for a slightly low thyroid. I was switched to Armour thyroid and had a horrible reaction. When I went back to the Levothyroxin I started to notice these dents in my skull....several now actually. And more recently I am now getting this horrible pressure in my head, like my brain is being compressed. I've seen about 10 different doctors and have been told everything from stress (the most common "I don't know" answer) to "it must be my imagination. Does a doctor or any medical professional read these posts? Need help.

I noticed there are many people with indents in the head area. I recently came across an article that talked about the issue.
"En Coup de Sabre is a term used when linear scleroderma affects the forehead. It appears as an indented, vertical, colorless, line of skin on the forehead. The indentation looks as though the person may have been struck by a sword. Linear Scleroderma can appear as a long streak resembling a deep sabre wound — often called "en coup de sabre."

Hi, cant believe how many people have found these dents, but my Dr did even acknowledge mine when I showed him, I am 50 year old female, fit participate in regular exercise eat healthy, juice every day veggies etc, no health or weight problems. I have had blocked sinuses for 5-6 weeks with extreme head pain for 4+ weeks, medication etc not really working excessive pain over my eyes to the top of my skull pain on temples when eating, loud noises and light painful and indent in the center of my forehead was about 1.5inches across now covers 70% across like a line (looks almost like bad botox, lol, but not really funny) having MRI scan next week due to prolong head pains, not indent... I would be interested to hear the outcome and recovery of others who have stated the same/similar problems

Revisiting this. I still have the indentation. I think it corresponds to dehydration and circulation. Not getting any worse, but sometimes it is a bit tender.

I'm also in a high stress job and never noticed mine before tonight. I do wear my sunglasses on top of my head daily but the dent is not where glass lay. I'm hypothyroid and also take suboxone. Been very dehydrated this week and drinking abnormal amounts of water. No pain but I do have dandruff in my dent. We all have similar issues. My father had terminal brain cancer in the stem and spinal cord. Worries me greatly and have Dr appt at the end of the month. Will be asking if still there after I try some of the suggestions on here. I'll update if I figure anything out
