Go for it my only relief was narcotics/opiates for eight years. Getting off of it after it became effective was quite difficult but I managed to do it alone, Tapering!

I am a 4q year old female who had a series of unfortunate events that led to the excelleration and deterioration to my he lath do do I'll performed procedures, neglect and being accused of "narcotic seeking. Let me explain..In July 2010 I sought medical treatment at my local ER. I was possibly bitten by a tick, and my family doctor was on vacation, his answering service advised me to go seek immediate medical treatment. I did. They evaluated me for possible meningitis, of which I WAS ABLE TO BEND MY NECK WITH NO PAIN AND I WAS NOT RUNNING A HIGH FEVER. Before my bloodwork results came back, he was doing a spinal tap. I questioned this invasive treatment as my bloodwork results were not returned from the lab.HE did an LP and after 45 minutes MISSED. OK, FINE.But I was insistent he not perform another, which he was suggesting. When I said I'd rather wait until my bloodwork returned, he got angry, degrading and nasty. I objected, but he did it anyway. Guess what, when he performed the 2nd LP, he hit a nerve in my spine.! I literally cried out and actually saw and right blinding flash of "light". Blood was and Lloyd over my sheets and land. Wierd clearing fluid. He blamed me for moving AFTER the 2nd tap and him hitting the nerve. I grew nauseous and developed a headache so bad, I couldn't move. This doctor had the nerve to non chalantly wash his Hans and say"we all make mistakes. A 3rd tap was performed by a Anesthesia specialist who got my fluid in about 4 minutes, however I was so I'll, I couldn't object. I had a major spinal sheath tear that was left untreated d for over 4 weeks. I finally got in to a Neurologist that immediately ordered blood patches(3 of them)and was left with damage, pain and no quality of life since then. It is now 2017. I have had Botox, which took 4 treatments to even feel relief. Was never put on high doses of narcotics and when I had migraines lasting longer than 7 days and sought medical intervention,I was treated like a Crack addict, narcotic seeker and dregs of society. Personally, I never sued, I tried forgiveness...it has wasted my life and the medical community needs to look carefully at patient history before damning a person to missing their children grow up and multiple job losses. BEWARE OF THE ACTUAL MEDICAL ABNORMALITIES VS. THE DRUG ADDICTED! I'M TIRED OF SUFFERING. TIRED OF NO LIFE, TIRED OF JUDGEMENT.THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY NEEDS TO EXERCISE THEIR OATH AND TAKE CARE AND LOOK AT RECORDS! I AM READY TO SUE. FORGIVENESS HAS COME TO AN END. FOR THOSE NOT SUFFERING, IT IS EASY TO JUDGE!

I hear you. I'm in the same position.......I dont even want to live as I get minimal relief and have had multiple non narcotic treatment that has failed. I hope they are all condemned to the same fate I've dealt with...they aren't doctors....they just want $$$ and Prestige.

It's great that you are advocating for your late son. I too have lost a loved one to abuse. However, it MUST be noted that there is a difference between drug users and patients who are responsible with their prescribed treatments. Drugs/meds do not kill people. Abuse of a powerful pain medications does. Those who abuse scheduled medication creates so many obstacles for the patient who legitimately needs them to have a life worth living.

You know what your words upset me because after 66 years of life this woman understands addiction. But it's obvious you do not understand chronic migraines how the STEAL your life .can you imagine being unable to go to school, have a job , have stable relationships w a spouse or friend nc you spend 90 percent of life in PAIN
You know nothing .
It's true going to you Dr is vital .
But anything that works on chronic pain will be addictive. And anything is better than a life of daily pain .
Only we chronic migraine people understand the physical mental and emotional toll this takes and what it does to is

Your opinion is greatly appreciated. But your solution is not always the best answer. I have suffered for many years with cluster headaches. I am allergic to NSAIDS. I have some of the best nero docs you can find including a pain management specialist from Mayo Clinic. I have done everything thing to help. From infusions to just about every migraine med out there to prevention meds Depakote and others. Here's what works best for me. First off I hit DHE ( Migrianal). Works 90 percent of the time. If it fails during the week M threw F I head to get and infusion. which usually breaks cycle for a few days to a couple weeks. But if I get caught with what I call lvl 10 pain at night and the DHE stops working it Dilaudid time and meds for dry heaves. I don't think you know the extent of pain. They don't call them suicide headaches for no reason. I agree with you speak to Nero doc or pain management. But don't rule out Dilaudid for relief when everything else fails to work. I have been to the point of pain that if I have thought I was being tortured. So unless you have been there don't say one drug is better than another. Its what works at the time for relief. And I feel for all of you who suffer threw these. IT SUCKS !!!!!
