YES MALES & FEMALES HAVE 2 B TREATED!!! IF THE DOCTOR TELLS YOU MEN DON'T NEED TO BE TREATED. ACT A DAMN FOOL & INSIST THAT HE'S NOT LEAVING WITHOUT IT! FEMALES THAT SLEEP WITH FEMALES MUST TAKE THE Metronidazole (Flagyl) PILLS! "THE INFECTION CAN LIVE IN YOUR MOUTH AND VAGINA!!!" FEMALES THAT SLEEP WITH MEN (ONLY) YOU CAN TAKE THE Metronidazole (Flagyl) PILLS or, VAGINAL GEL or CREAM INSERTS. I HAVE DONE THE GEL AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY (SMELT AND FELT LIKE A VIRGIN AFTER USING IT). VUCKED UP AND GOT IT AGAIN (FROM MY BOYFRIEND), NOW I'M TRYING THE PILLS... BCUS I WANT 2 GET THIS *HIT OUT OF MY SYSTEM! GOOD LUCK GUYS! :O :-D :-|

Hi I was diagnosed with BV was treated told my fiancé couldn't get it we had sexual inter course after I was treated and I got it again so now I'm on the gel again and I wanted to know if its better for my fiancé to take the pills or use the gel on his penis ? Help! The doctor said just use the gel on his penis but that doesn't sound correct if I keep getting infected

Yes my fiance has a odor even after I have been treated. Now seeing that he can be a carrier he will be treated. Doctors need to be more informed. This crazy that BV is so common but the ppl we trust to help us don't even know about it really.

Thank you for leaving this post. I feel terrible every time my girl goes through these same issues that you were going through. I even thought about leaving her at one point so she didnt have to go through the emotional, physical, and mental pain that comes along with have BV. I'm going to go get checked ASAP. I'm determined to help us get through this.

He has to take Flagyl too and use a condom or masterbate a few times after treatment before having unprotected intercourse again. If you get it after you both are treated maybe he is getting it from another person and bring it back to you again

I'm a male and I just got tested the other day for it and it came back negative while my girlfirend's test came back positive. We have been dealing with this BV issue for a year now and truthfully we are both tired of it. My doctor told me it wasn't my fault but after some deep research, MALES CARRY THE BACTERIA!!! We are very asymptomatic and sorry fellas it won't show up on the "ROD" test. I know because I had to get 2 of them done yesterday because the first one dropped right after I got the "tip" taken out. But, I love my gf and I want to live a life BV free. So we are both being treated right now and hopefully good news will follow within the next few weeks as to if it comes back or not. For the longest I thought it was just bs and thought it wasn't me until I did some research. Ladies, having your man tested is not going to work. Asymptomatic means dormant which means it's deep inside the body and will not show its ugly face. Do what you can to try to have his doctor prescribe him the flagyl whether it be generic or brand name but in pill form so it goes to work they way it should. If it turns out they won't give it to him, get some for him. It's not going to effect him in anyway. This is via internet research so if you don't believe me just look for yourself... Thanks

It took me 48 hours to notice symptoms. 2 weeks is not accurate.

I just went through the same thing with my man. He was sleeping with someone else. After a year of his foolishness & 3 sessions of treatment for bv, then a fourth when the condom broke, i dumped him. He refused to go to the doctor every time. He's 51 years old, educated has a great career but is an A-hole! Women we have to love ourselves more. Ijs
