I have been running for a couple of years now and I have never had ankle problems, just bad knees. This winter I have been running on our treadmill due to the weather ( i live in the midwest ) and lately my achilles tendon is feeling sore, not really when I run but when I sit at my desk and move my foot in different angles or get up from the couch. My question is does treadmill running cause anything like this? I'm 40 now so I know things just sort of hurt for no reason sometimes but I never encountered this while running outdoors.

Thanks,
Sam

Running on a treadmill as opposed to the outdoors shortens your stride. The answer is yes, you can develop achilles issues because of the change. Be sure when you stretch your calf muscles be sure you are stretching your soleus as well.
