My son who is 3 was just diagnosed with an ear infection and is scheduled to have tonsillectomy. The er dr said since it's 5 days away and should be ok, but still need to call dr. But do you think they'll cancel his surgery?

as long as your son's ear infection clears up before the tonsillectomy, there should be no reason why they would cancel the procedure. But, if the opposite happens, and ear infection doesn't get cured, there are some chances that the surgeon will delay the tonsillectomy because ear infection adds a lot of additional risk for post-op complications and infections.

They will simply choose what is safest for your son, and that would most likely be waiting until he is infection free - or at least while infection is managed with antibiotics sucessfully,
