I have had multiple MRIs over the years since 1993. Head, spine of neck lower back hips, feet and shoulders. Both the older closed MRI and the newer Open MRI. I HAD an MRI of my lower back in Oct 2016 and my shoulder March 2017.
Never any pain. In fact I always felt as if whatever pains I was experiencing sometimes felt betted after MRI.
Well this morning had an Open MRI again of lower back. A few minutes into the procedure- I began having pain in the right upped limb from shoulder to the hand. Horrible pain. I had a recent surgery in April if that rotator cuff repair. This pain in the MRI was not from position...it was something sue to the MRI. It was almost as bad as my first night of the surgery. Burning searing crushing pain. Of course no technician seemed to have ever heard of this. I go online and see similar MRI pain complaints. I am nurse of 40 years ans before this I would not have thought it possible. I also have a health law background and Medical Device equipment review enters my thought.
I am calling the Radiologist and my Dr. Today.
This needs to be discussed as a possible complication. No metal in my body.
