Hi guys, 12 days ago now i had a Frenuloplasty where they cut the frenulum and stitched it back up. Not only has it left a small 'skin tag' like lump just below the opening of the head, and bigger skin tag at the surgical cut half way down the foreskin when rolled back, but now where the tight frenulum was, is now a very skinny white tight line which when the foreskin is pulled back is excruciating And tight, even more painful than before i had the op. Im not sure if this is scare tissue or a smaller frenulum which was underlying. Does anyone have any knowledge on this or experienced the same. Any remedy? Or is another frenuloplasty needed? Cheers guys

Hi Tapsy,

Part of it is likely due to healing from the frenuloplasty.

Give it some more time to heal.  If it continues to bother you in a week or so then check in with your urologist.  Sometimes, yes, another frenuloplasty is needed.  In some cases a frenulectomy may be a better option.

Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, whats the difference between the two? I originally got a frenuloplasty where he cut the frenulum and stitched it back together, leaving no frenulum.. whats different with a frenulotomy?

Cheers

A frenulectomy is the removal of the frenulum. A frenuloplasty is an alteration to the frenulum.

Usually during a frenuloplasty, the frenulum is cut and stretched so as to allow for a wider range of motion. It is not removed.

Your urologist can provide more information as to exactly what was done. Without an exam we can't tell.

Again, it may be due to the healing process.

Thanks for the reply,
Well then i guess i got a frenuloctomy as there is no frenulum there anymore, just this hard white line which is about 1cm or so in length just underneath the head of the penis that when any force is applied is a serious killer

Hope it helps.

It can take some time for the skin/tissue to heal and any swelling to go down. It should feel better shortly. If not, follow up with it.

Good luck.
