Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this web site and need a little help PLEASE.
I found Steady Health by typing my symptoms into a general search engine and this web site is one of many that came up. I'm having symptoms that are very similar to MONO. However, not all of my symptoms fall under MONO.
I've been dealing with many symptoms for around four months now and it looks as though it doesn't want to leave me alone. I've read a lot of other peoples posts on here and what symptoms they're dealing with and I find it strange yet interesting that I'm not alone. Time for me to take some action!
My symptoms are: Extreme Fatigue, Dizziness that comes & goes, General all over weakness, Foggy Headed, Not being able to focus, Having to urinate more than usual(especially at night) and feels as though my bladder's not emptying completely, Tiredness that's persistant, No Energy, Heavy Headed feeling, in fact it feels as though my whole body is heavy, Not Sleeping well, sometimes irritable, Heavy Chest feeling(especially when I lay down to go to sleep), A Pounding-Not Fast, Heart Beat.. Seems to beat HARD at times, My Stomach feels very bloated most of the time, but made worse by eating anything, Sometimes out of breath for no reason-Short of breath(fish out of water feeling), and breaking out in Sweats from being too hot, and then getting the chills the next minute. Food taste different as well and I'm not eating as much as I should.
Okay.. With all of these symptoms, you'd think I would be a pretty sick debilitated woman.. Right?? Nope! In terms of having any sort of tests to find out exactly whats wrong with me.. I've had a few.
Blood & Urine Tests, CT Scans, Chest X-Ray's, Echo Cardiogram, EKG, My Oxygen Levels have been tested time and time again, I've even had a Cystsoscopy of my Baldder(results were an irritated bladder), and while in the hospital(Yep, I had to go to the hospital because I swear I couldn't breath and I thought I was dying), they actually drew blood from an artery in my left arm to get a more accurate oxygen level reading(I hope NO ONE EVER HAS TO HAVE THAT DONE...EVER!, It's HORRIBLY PAINFUL). None of these tests have shown anything out of the ordinary.. and my primary care doctor is saying that this is all due to some sort of virus... Sound Familiar??
In the hospital, doctors were first telling me that they thought that I had Viral Pneumonia, and so they admitted me into the hospital and that's where I stayed for three days. The many doctors that I saw within those three confusing days kept changing their story on my illness. Come to find out on day three, none of the doctors had a clue on what I had. One doctor that came in described what I had as "MONO Like". So they sent me home with a rescue inhaler and advair as well. They told me to follow up with my primary care physician and I did. When I went to see him, he asked if my symptoms had gotten any better, and I said, No. He wanted me to stay out of work for another week and then follow up with him the following Monday which was this past Monday. He asked me the same questions again and I explained to him that nothing had changed. He then said that he was going to refer me to a Lung Doctor and that was it, and that's where I'm at right now.
Of course after reading everyone's posts on their own specific conditions, I see that they also went to doctor after doctor, specialists after specialists.. and to no avail. Nothing is being found on these symptoms, and we.. the patients, are having to do our own research and digging to find out exactly what's going on with us. So, with that being said.. I'm going to read and dig and research everything and anything. I'm not going to just sit and be out of work, and miss out on life because of something that no one can explain. There's an answer somewhere.. there's a way to solve this. We are not crazy, even though doctors, friends and family look at you like you are.. simply because no one has proof on paper as to why you feel the way that you do.
I've seen where one person has had relief from one thing they tried and then another person tries the same thing with no results or change. I find this interesting as well. Whatever this is.. has a cure, and maybe we need to think outside of the box on this one.
You know how you feel, and You know it isn't normal. I'm just like all of you dealing with this.. whatever it is and just like you, I want my life back. It's almost unbearable to live this way.
I'm not giving up, because it looks as though I'm one of many in the same boat... and if I find out information that could help someone else dealing with the same issues, then I will most definitely keep you all posted in hopes that will help someone else. Even though I'm human and like to speculate, I will only post the facts. For those of you dealing with the same horrible symptoms.. Please hang in there, and know that you're not alone. If we all keep asking questions and demading answers then we will figure this out. Don't give up.. NEVER give up.
Best Wishes to You All, and if anyone has any clue or an idea on something that might help me out as well, please post it. Thank you!
