Hi there ... I feel slightly feverish for the last 3 days, but do not have a cough. I have some light headaches but beside this I feel like usual. I'm in Michigan Oakland county and so far I know I didn't have any contact with covid-19 positive persons. I also feel some discomfort in my lower abdominal area, but my stool is fine. My husband and kids are fine, but I'm worried in case I'm infected that I could transfer infection to them so I keep the distancing in the house itself. Thanks God we have enough rooms.

I called my family physician and he advised to isolate in a separate room and report symptoms to authorities. He advised to take antipyretics and see if the fever goes down in next couple of days ... I know this is very tough time, but I think I'd go nuts like this. My husband even doesn't cook so I need to take care of the household so how can I do all that if I'm quarantined in a room?!?

Any advise would be appreciated .... Thanks~

From the CDC website: "If you have a fever or cough, you might have COVID-19."

A fever OR a cough, not a fever AND a cough.

COVID-19 can manifest in all sorts of different ways. With the symptoms being so vague, it's best to do what your doctor advises in case you do have it. Don't hesitate to call for emergency medical help if you do develop symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion, or blue lips.

As for taking care of your household - it's their time to take care of you, now. Without physical contact.

Well, yes, it could be coronavirus. There are all kinds of different symptoms, so IDK if you have it. Also, you talk about not being in contact with any confirmed coronavirus people. You don't need to be in contact with people who are confirmed to have it, you can get it from anywhere. People might still have it even if it's not confirmed.

So, yeah, maybe you have it, or maybe you don't. I still think you should stay at home, and quarantine yourself just in case.

Thanks for reply.

Yes, I'm at home. Waiting for the authorities to call - hope soon!

My current condition is the same, not worse not better.

In case to be tested positive, is there a probability I could transfer the virus to other persons in the same household before I experienced any symptoms?

Yes it is possible to transfer it to anyone in close proximity to you without you even realizing you have it just like with the common cold or flu or Spanish flu can be spread before you have any symptoms.

The advice I've seen everywhere is to isolate in one room. Don't come out unless you need to use the bathroom. Use a different bathroom for only you if you can, if not disinfect everything. Don't let family members in to clean your room. Stick your own laundry in the machine, wash on hot. Let people put food outside your room and collect it when they step back.

And of course... keep connected through the internet!

Although you may not have coronavirus, better safe than sorry, right?

I heard the coronavirus can be in it's "incubation state" for about 5 days, and sometimes around two weeks. That means you have the virus, and can spread it to other people, but you don't have any symptoms. So, you definitely could have given in to your family, and people you were in contact with.
