Your little one could have Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease, this is a common childhood ailment. Little pustules form inside of the mouth and they could become painful. A fever developes and child is lathargic. You may see little blistery looking bubbles on the bottoms of their feet as well as their hands. The bubbles or blisters break and then the skin will peel.
When a child (or adult) run a temerature, their breath automatically stinks.
Have you called his pediatrician? Doctor will probably tell you to alternate tylenol and motrin, one is pain reliever and helps bring the temp down, while the other is an anti inflammatory.

I am not, by any means, suggesting that this is for sure what your baby has, it's just from my own personnel experience.
You should really call the doctor, especially since you stated that he has had a"high" temp. A high temp that can not be brought down in a reasonable amount of time can lead to complications such as a seizure.
I hope that you are giving your baby a reducer of some kind, tylenol, baby aspirin, something, right?

Bad breath for a child can also be something like tonsilitis as well. Have you been able to take him to a doctor since posting this? I'd like to hear how he's doing. Thanks!
