Hey everyone. I'm hoping someone can help me here.
I've been to so many Doctors, and none of them believe me because all the tests are coming back negative.
When I was pregnant with my son ( at 19, if that matters) everything was going fine until midway into my third month of pregnancy.
I had been having some pain on my right side, but one day while out with a friend, it just got to be too much and she took me into the ER.
They admitted me right away and told me I had a kidney stone. They did a stynt surgery and sent me on my way. A couple days later I went into my local er, because I was bleeding so badly, and the pain was horrific. They took out the stynt and tried without anything again. I came back in a few days later, worse than ever, and they did a nephrostomy tube placement directly into my right kidney. I spent about half of my pregnancy in the hospital in agonizing pain, and having to take narcotics so I would't miscarry, because the stress of the pain was too much for my body. Months and months of different procedures and the tube being taken out for calcifying and needing another one put in, etc.
After having a c-section, and delivering my son, they kept the tube in for a few more days and finally removed it by a medical student ripping it out. I'm not even kidding. He just tugged it out. It was bad. They put a dressing over it and that was that.
Or so I thought.
The pain has never gone away.
I get recurring bladder and kidney infections, though I'm always very sanitary and take cranberry supplements and tried a profilactiv for over a year and it didn't do anything. I kept getting these infections.
I have been to specialists of every kind, and none of them will take responsibility for what's going on in my body. The urologists say it's a nephrology issue, the nephrologists say it's a urology issue, etc. For awhile they were treating my pain, but now they won't do that either. They sent me to a pain clinic, where they tried to teach us how to meditate our pain away and I've tried it.. but it doesn't work. I hurt too much. They diagnosed everyone in my pain clinic class ( all 11 of us) with depression on the same day, and I noticed the curriculum suggested that the pain was coming from the depression that they had just diagnosed us with.
I'm so overwhelmed. I'm tired of this constant flank pain. I have to take 4 sleeping pills just to sleep through the night, it's so bad. I've tried everything, and I don't know what else to do. No Doctors listen to me. They just look at a 24 year old girl and think I'm 1. Making it up, or 2. greatly exaggerating my symptoms. neither of which are true.
They've done ct scans, mri's, xrays, voiding cystograms, everything.
I don't know what to do anymore. Please someone tell me you have an idea of what i can do? I hurt all the time, and I can't be the Mom I want to be because it hurts too much to do all the fun activities I want too with my son.
Help?
