found a lump growing out of my vagina and was really scared untill i went to the doctor.

Just a friendly advice o.O I found this bump growing out of my vagina and got really scared. After seeing my doctor I was told it was a Bartholin cyst -a painfully swelling of a gland in the genital area of a women. This swelling could be caused by an infection, it may also be from irritation or plugging of the gland.cutting or draining the cyst helps clear the problem. however the cyst can get infected or swollen agagin at any time. It can also be fixed by minor surgery so this wont happen again. :-( well sadly to say this happen to me in june and just two days ago it happen again.Now being the person that I am i got scared ,I called my cousin who happen to be a gyn (HE) feeling a bit :$ that i had to explain this to my guy cousin he ensure me that its nothing im doing wrong . he said its like getting a pimple( a really large one ) it comes and go, he told me to keep putting a very hot rag on it and eventually it would pop ,which it did. it was really like a pimple. Puss and blood then relieve aahhhhh. it wasn't a good feeling having it there(could sit right , it felt like had a tampon on the wrong way ) but as soon as i pop i felt comfort, so now ive learn that it could come back I think I'll take that offer up on that minor surgey 8-|

It just means apply something to the area that is hot. Keep warming it up an applying.
Use something clean an soft.

I have to same issue as well, i can hardly sit, stand, walk or sleep comfortably anymore because of this thing on my vagina. I am to embarrssed to ask my mum about it, and i am only 15 so i can't see a doctor by myself until i'm 16. Even if I were to go to the doc by myself my mum would ask questions and it would be really weird answering them, anyway so going to the doc and asking my mum just is not possible. I thought about trying natural antibiotics but my mum would ask about that to... anyway so I have no idea what to do and i am in alot of pain with this thing. HELP PLEASE!

I had this once in 2005. I just took lots of hot baths to let it soak. I have heard of other people having it develop into a bigger problem though so if you start to get a fever go see a doc. The doc told me it could happen again and I could have surgery to fix it but I haven't had one again and it's been 6 years. It was like a golf ball! And very painful until it popped. If you can take 3-4 hot baths a day.

Could I just leave it there? Do I have to pop it? It doesn't hurt at all, just gets a little tender if I mess with it a whole lot. Is it dangerous?

I was really embarrassed to ask my mom too, since I thought she would think I was overreacting, but she told me she had the same thing when she was 16, too. So she told me how to take care of it and said we can go to the docs if nothing works.
Your mom would rather you tell her than go around being miserable, I bet. I think you should just try :)

uhm i think i have this prblem.. but mine is growing outside....it also hangs alittle, should i be worried, its only small but im still very scared and worried. :/ pleeeeeeeeeeeeaasaase help me, im really scared especially since im only 13 and its very awkward telling my mum, or anyone :(

i've had it three times, the last time i had it drained but this morning when i woke up i could feel the lump on my vagina. how do i stop the lump from growing cause i seriously cannot go through this pain? its tooooooo muuuuuccchhhh!!!!!!! any suggestions????

I'm 15 and had this twice. The original poster is right: it's just like a pimple. It hurts to pop but it's so nice to have it gone. If you just leave it it will just continue to hurt until you move a certain way or even touch it lightly and it will pop and (sorry it's gross) puss and a tiny bit of blood comes out. Now knowing it's no biggy is good to hear, I thought I was dying xD but it's no big deal if you just pop it.
