Hi:
The term thyroid is normally used exclusively in regards to the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland produces a hormone that regulates several important body functions, i.e. heart rate. A term that is used to describe an enlarged thyroid gland is a goiter. You have a lump, perhaps the are connecting the two. You would have to ask the doctor when you get the results. It's not a good idea, however, to read the screens because you can scare yourself to death. Only the technician knows what terms are used at that facility to define or note different things. Try to relax until you get your results. It sounds like you are close to getting your answers. Please let us know what you find out and how you are doing.
