I tripped fell last week and landed on my chest. I am a large woman and have very large breasts. The ER doctors told me I have a fractured sternum, and they sent me home with some pain pills. Is that the appropriate treatment?

Yes, it is. There's really nothing doctors can do when there are fractures to the rib and sternum areas. They may wrap the region, and if the injury is very severe go in for surgery, but other than that this is the common procedure.
