For years now I have had problems with my gut. Its always been sensitive and fragile. Since being diagnosed with Diabetes 2 years ago its calmed down a lot but I still have dreadful insomnia caused by a bloating feeling and a feeling of something on the left towards centre of abdomen feeling like it gets 'stuck'. I can't sleep until it slips back or comes 'unstuck'. This results in me punching the area or contorting myself, trying mint tea etc to remove bloating and thereby relieve any pressure that could be causing it. Sometime I don't sleep for weeks properly and sometimes not even an hour. All medication makes it worse. Exercise that causes 'grinding' movements make it worse. Normal sleep is rare due to diabetic visits to ladies room. Diabetes is well controlled. Type 2. Also have severe throat infections some Dr's have said is bad Herpese infections. I live with this daily. The last two years ulcers are almost always present. No tests have been done to prove Herpes. My body is best when no medication is taken. CanNOT drink even a teaspoon of alcohol of any kind. I have asthma (which is not a problem) but for many years had to take cortisone inhalers which I believe caused the damage to my mucosa everywhere. Gut/throat/. Steroids thin the skin so it stands to reason the same will happen with anything they come in contact with passing through the body. I stopped taking them some years ago. I also stopped dairy which made my asthma 95% better. I no longer need asthma medication like Pulmicort. But I'm left with these other myserious symptoms..I'm 55 and female..no children. Insidentally, I have no pain in the abdomen. Sometimes I get a 'gravel' feeling at its worst but this isn't usually present most times. Any ideas would be most appreciated. Have had bowel examinations years ago which showed only mucus. Thanks
