Alright, maybe I'm overreacting, but I feel like I should get some opinions on this.

Nearly two months ago, I had sex with a girl I barely knew. I asked her if she was clean beforehand, and she said she was. We used a condom and such, and everything went smoothly (so to speak).

Within a few days I noticed a dull tingling at the tip of my penis, just inside the urethra. It didn't hurt, so I chalked it up as something to do with the condom which would inevitably pass. No big deal.

Roughly two weeks after the sex, though, I suddenly came down with flu-like symptoms. Body aches, chills -- the works. Being something of hypochondriac, I immediately deduced that it was genital herpes, despite having no true sores. The flu lasted only about two days, but I've been terrified since.

Now, almost two months after the incident, my only enduring symptoms are the tingling urethra (a sensation which has become increasingly burn-like) and and abnormal itchiness in the genital region. Again, I haven't had sores, but occasionally the skin seems more red than it ought to be.

I admit that my symptoms could be caused by a number of different afflictions. I just want some opinions on how concerned I should really be.

probably not herpes. Urethral irritation can be caused by many things besides STDs. As you probably have guessed, urethral itching and burning are not normal. Go see your doctor. They've seen plenty of Penises, yours won't make a difference.
