If your husband is still experiencing recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) despite completing a course of antibiotics and being off them for a month, it's important for him to see a health expert. Here are some next steps that could be considered:

  1. Consult with a healthcare provider: UTIs can be caused by various factors, including bacterial infections, bladder or kidney stones, or structural abnormalities in the urinary tract. A healthcare provider can conduct tests to determine the underlying cause of your husband's recurrent UTIs and recommend appropriate treatment.

  2. Take a urine culture test: A urine culture test can identify the specific bacteria causing the infection and help determine the most effective antibiotic treatment. Your husband may need to provide a urine sample for this test.

  3. Consider preventive measures: If your husband is prone to recurrent UTIs, his healthcare provider may recommend preventive measures such as drinking plenty of fluids, urinating frequently, wiping from front to back after using the bathroom, and avoiding irritants like bubble baths and certain types of lubricants during sex.

  4. Discuss antibiotic resistance: If your husband has been taking antibiotics frequently for UTIs, his healthcare provider may need to consider the possibility of antibiotic resistance, where bacteria become resistant to the effects of antibiotics. In such cases, alternative antibiotics or other treatment options may need to be considered.
