Hi, my son had enlarged tonsils and he has difficulties breathing. They were often swollen and had white spots. A doctor did some testing and said that they should be removed. Surgery didn’t have any complications, so I don’t understand why they kept my son for 3 days in the hospital.

Hi, my daughter also had her tonsils removed and she stayed in the hospital for 3 days. People usually stay for one day or two, but my daughter was only 4 years old, and I guess they wanted to be sure that she’ll be fine. Her tonsils were huge before the surgery, and I was very worried. Fortunately, everything was fine and there weren’t any complications. Maybe they kept her for 3 days in the hospital because she wasn’t able to eat and drink right away. After the surgery, her throat looked white but the doctor said that it was normal. For the first two days in the hospital, she was refusing to eat, but the third day she finally asked for food. A doctor said that she has to eat normal food, because it prevents a throat infection.
