I know every keep telling me “ hang in there “ but after 15 years being anemic it sounds like a joke. My hemoglobin count is always below 10 gm and I have taken a lot of iron medicines and other vitamins. My doctor says that my body does not absorb iron. Sometimes after a hard day, I feel fatigued and dizzy. Doctor suggested bone marrow test, but I am scared of getting a bone marrow test done.

I guess it could sound irritating when someone without your condition is telling you “hang in there “. Do you know what the underlying cause is? Maybe you should take injectable form of iron. It is given to patients who are either unable to absorb oral iron or who have increasing anemia despite adequate doses of oral iron, although It is expensive and has greater side effects than oral iron preparations.
