Can you please tell me more about the lumps on your clavicle? I have three lumps on one side and one on the other. I suspect on on each side is a bony protrusion, but I'm not sure why on one side I'd have 3. I have had some small soft swollen nodes in my armpits and small ones in my neck. I have some hard ones in my groin. I've also got a low white blood cell count. What I am hoping you can tell me is what your lumps looked a felt like? Where they hard like bone or movable? Where were they located on the collar bone? I'm highly suspicious, but I have a possible auto-immune disease that they are going to try to pass this off on, I have no doubt. I want to have as much knowledge as possible. I go today to see the surgeon about a possible biopsy for the neck or groin nodes. I'm nervous he won't biopsy, but also nervous he'll want to. Thank you for anything you can tell me. Best.

My 17 year old son has the same thing as well. He has a hard like lump on the right side of his chest. His also is hard like a bone. His is pushed out and down and he has not broken any bones either.  The Dr. @ Kaiser has him going for a scoliosis test. Not sure if this helps anyone but we will find our results soon.

I too have discovered two lumps on right and left clavical. I'm 37 years old and have chronic pain problems that are undiagnosed but it may also be F.M. The lump on my left side is located where my collar bone meets my sterum and is the size of a small grape. The lump on my right side has increased in size an shape since I noticed it two months ago. the right sided lump is located at the end of my collar bone but directly on top and is quite deep into my throat. I've only had my G.P look at the right side and he ordered an x-ray the same day I seen him. There was nothing significate to report from the x-ray and a C.T scan has been ordered. I can empathize with the stress and worry people have during this uncertain time. I will keep eveyone updated and my thoughts are with everyone on this forum.

I guess my reply didn't post, so here goes again:

I have had diagnosed fibromyalgia for 25 years.  I am 58 and female.  I was diagnosed with Graves disease which is a form of hyperthyroidism and treated with radioactive iodine on June 2, 1992.  I have had rapid weight loss of 40 lbs in 4 months, thought it was from my doctor raising my Synthroid dose 4 months ago, but now not sure.  I eat anything I want and still lose weight which is NOT like me.  Two weeks ago I noticed a lump that feels like bone on the end of my right clavical or collar bone.  This week I notice a new lump attached to the previous one except it is growing upwards and even with the ligament that goes up the right side of my throat.  It is painful now, but was not painful 2 weeks ago when I noticed the 1st one.  It is/feels like it is attached to my clavical in the form of bone, not moveable, both are not moveble but attached to end of clavical.  On top of the 40 lb mostly unexplained weight loss... I am experiencing extreme headaches, fatigue, memory loss, inability to concentrate.  I write important things down on notes, put them in an obvious place and then can't find them without tearing the house apart.  I'm pretty scared of what it could be since it's growing so rapidly.  I don't have the $30 for my doctor co-pay, but will call them anyway I guess.

I have the same symptoms and just came back from the Doctors. There is a joint where the clavicle meets the sternum. My Doctor is leaning towards arthritis.

Just went to my doctor with a similar lump at the end of my clavicle and symptoms. Doctor says it's quite common form of osteoarthritis. It can become inflamed and is best to take an anti inflammatory drug for 3 - 4 days to reduce pain and swelling. Besides eating right, moderate stretching, exercise and not over straining that area heavy lifting etc. Not much I can do about it. Refer to web for more details on how to deal on osteoarthritis. Good Luck. :)

I detected one behind my ear also as a hard bony lump on the bony part behind my ear. Not sore. Then one on my 2nd last rib, also bone on bone, a little bit sore, 2 developed on the bony arch of both my feet which irritate if I wear shoes that overlap this bony bit and do get sore. Finally one on my scapula which is always sore and growing bigger albeit very slowly. I have also wondered what they are. Some are sore and some are not. I feel like a tree forever extending new branches and growing all the time. Some irritate me, some annoy me, some hurt me and now just decided to give up and accept it, pain and all. Have no clue what they are and guessing just makes it worse. I give up.

I recently noticed the same injury to my left clavicle where it joins my sternum. I found this while researching. Haven't been to the Dr. yet but will be going this week.  Not sure if that helps anyone: Sternoclavicular joint dislocation is a relatively uncommon injury that can be easily missed or misdiagnosed. Bilateral posterior sternoclavicular joint dislocation is particularly uncommon.

I have a lump the size of a golf ball on my right side of the clavicle, I've had it for about 2 years, the pain that I get from it is almost unbearable that I sometimes refuse to use my arm, I've had xrays, mris, and CT scans which all have come back normal cept my mri showed something but they said my joint had fluid behind it and was pushing it out, well two days after that diagnosis my doctor called to tell me that they could not find any fluid behind the joint, so I'm back at square one and it's driving me crazy

I too, am new to this forum. I don't usually participate, but some of the advice/I formation given is incorrect. I am a 45 year old female recovering from surgery to remove my sternum (breastbone) which contained a bone tumor (sarcoma) called chondrosarcoma. First of all, any type of persistent pain or swelling relating to bone or cartilage should be are fully evaluated by a competent physician. It is true, often times our aches, pains, and lumps end up to be arthritis, or some other non-life threatening condition. However, there are those instances when our pain ends up to be something much more insidious. Primary bone cancer accounts for around .2% of all cancers. Many of them are very slow growing. Contrary to what is stated below, all cancers do not grow and spread fast. I believe my tumor was silently growing for over 5 years. Because of this fact, many cases are discovered to late. My tumor was found by accident, which makes me fortunate. However, even if found early, the treatment, which consists primarily of surgical removal, can be life altering. Nobody wants to be falsely scared over cancer. That's where evaluation by a physician comes in handy. More information on bone cancer can be found at sarcoma.org. By the way, some forms of arthritis that occur in the sternoclavicular joint can be really problematic, so either way, best to get a visit to the doc in. Some folks bypass the family practice physical and go to an ortho doc instead. That option most likely will depend on your insurance. Best wishes and take care of yourself! Christina
