Definitely pressure on the right rib cage and I can feel it. Mine is twice as big. Surgery 36.4% mortality, spontaneous rupture 75% mortality. I don't like the odds.

I would see a Naturopathic Physician if I were you. Search that term. (they do not take medical insurance). Since the doctors are not giving you anything for it here is something I learned. A Hemangioma is a tumor in the liver. The essential oil Frankincense when taken orally has been found to reduce tumors in the body (if head tumor rub in roof of mouth). There is nothing to lose by doing this. Search that on the internet and see what people using it are experiencing. Look for a food grade oil by a reputable company. There is one that has Mountain in the name. We have to share info and help each other, medicine does not have all the answers especially when they are only allowed to use synthetics, even when there has been studies for many natural things in their own medical literature.

I have had upper right abdominal pain just under the rib cage; also feelings of pressure (like something was in there), fullness, pain and occasional nausea. I was also diagnosed with very low vitamin D levels as well as low thyroid levels. A CT scan with contrast revealed a "lesion"; a recent ultrasound confirmed that the "lesion" is a 1.74 cm hemangioma. I was also told that it shouldn't cause any pain so now I've been scheduled for a colonoscopy to rule out intestinal problems. From what I have been reading my symptoms are probably from the hemangioma. Guess I'll find out for sure after the colonoscopy.

I have liver hemangioma's, had surgery in early 1980's. Had 5 surgeries to drain them, they keep filling back up. So surgeon said he couldn't do surgery anymore. So been taking morphine for the last 40 yrs., does help but makes me sick at times and sleepy.
I was born with hemangioma's over top half of left side, when I was in late 20's was when they found in liver.
Has anyone found something to help them, I'm in my 60's and don't know if they will find only help for me.
I have a lot of the same symptom as some of the rest of you have, only I have loosed weight and gained weight at times. At times I just don't feel like eating or drinking very much, makes the pain worse.

You should talk to an interventional radiologist about treating them with RF ablation. I had my 7+ cm one treated by Fred Lee at U of Wisconsin in 2004. You can read an article about it as I was the first person to be treated with a new RF instrument. I'm sure the technique has advanced since then even though it was a total success for me already: eliminated pain and discomfort.

kathyf1003534,
I also have liver hemangiomas and the drs tell me the same that they usually don't cause symptoms but mine are like; lightheadedness, nausea, headaches, pain and pressure right upper quadrant, fluctuating bp from 101/79 to 128/83, itching, little cough, shortness of breath but it's all not constant but are in varying degrees throughout the day depending on what I'm doing or positional. There is not any resource out there that I have found that confirms these symptoms and it is very annoying to say the least to be told that hemangiomas don't do that. All the tests usually are done when laying down so the dynamics of it all are different in regards to what and where and how other organs, arteries and vessels, nerves, muscles and such are being affected by the hemangiomas. Did you have the surgery and if so I hope it helped. Please let me know. If you have any helpful information please let me know. Thank you and God Bless!

How are you doing after your embolization? My dr told me that I couldn't have that done for my 9cm one. Thank you and God Bless!
