If you have a headache on one side only, can that still be a migraine? I used to suffer from migraines when I was younger, and now my daughter, who is 20 years old, has started complaining about these continuous headaches on one side only. All the other symptoms, like the headache covering the eye (one eye only in her case) and the nausea make me think it must be migraine. I heard that migraines are sometimes hereditary. Does anyone know more about this?

Sure, migraines do sometimes cover only one side. Still, if your daughter is suffering from bad headaches that are impacting her life, she should probably seek medical help if they last for longer than a few days. I think it is safe to say that a trip to the doctor to see what is going on will do no harm, whereas walking around with terrible headaches just might.
