Hi
I am a 22 y/o female. I also have these symptoms:
- stomach pains
- headaches (I often want to be in the pitch dark because of this)
- loss of appetite (Usually only liquids and snacks)
- muscle tension/back pains (don't know if this is related)
- it increases with stress and anxiety
I have had this for 4 years and many different doctors have diagnosed me with different things. I have found antacids like alka-seltzer/eno salts to be very effective, and also the Vitamin C orange flavoured alka-seltzer, but still only a bandaid solution. I try to drink liquids with fruits and vegetables to get nutrients in, but I often still feel sick. I was tested for parasites and didn't have any. I am otherwise active with no health problems. I am sexually active and worried it might be an STI? One doctor suggested a bacteria imbalance, and gave me some herbal medication that didn't work. I often get high to get myself to eat and stop the pain. This is not the best solution either though because it makes me tired.

I'm also glad to have found this, seeing as my search hasn't provided me with many results.
I'm twenty, female, and have been experiencing these symptoms for the past three days:
-headache (dull, chronic, front of head)
-complete lack of appetite
-tired, weak
-lack of focus/concentration
-generally "slow"
-aches (may or may not be related.. I've been experiencing lower back pain and neck pain for months now)
These symptoms began at random and have not been persistent since. Nothing seems to ease the headache, which is very unusual.. and neither caffeine nor my medication for ADD are helping to increase my focus, concentration, and energy.
It is becoming impossible to force myself to eat (I love food, I love "snacking," but now the thought of eating simply doesn't appeal to me).
Maybe we can find some similarities here..? I doubt that toothpaste or shampoo are the culprits, but the thought itself is a good method in finding a cause:
-I'm twenty, female
-I weigh around 109-112 lbs (I'm 5'2")
-I don't exercise frequently, but I do around 200 crunches a day
-I eat three relatively small meals every day (even if I have to force myself to).. around 800 calories total
-I've always had low blood pressure
-I drink coffee every day (yes, I'm an addict and it completes my mornings)
-I smoke cigarettes, 10-20 a day
Medications I'm taking: Adderall (does not affect my appetite since I've been taking it for several months), Lo Estrin (been taking for three months, no major side effects), and two Benadryl every night to help me sleep.
Also, recently: OTC pain relievers (Aleeve, Asprin, Tylenol, whatever) for the headaches.
Medications I've taken regularly in the past: Xanax (I was wrongly diagnosed with anxiety a year ago), Tramadol (for chronic abdominal pain years ago), and Yaz.
Medical history- I had a tumor removed from my liver when I was 19 (year and a half ago). It was a benign Focal nodular hyperplasia. There were no complications, surgeon was great, recovery was normal.
I'm convinced that the symptoms that I'm experiencing are not psychological.. I've experienced depression intermittently as a teenager and it didn't feel like this (I eat a LOT when I'm depressed). I'm usually a good judge at noticing the difference between being physically sick and mentally "sick." There have been no recent changes to my diet and nothing else out of the ordinary.
...Now let's figure this out. :D

Just a follow-up from my post on 9/28/10.. in case it may help someone:
The cure in my case was Penicillin.
I was suffering from the aforementioned symptoms due to an infection (which the doctor couldn't find.. thank god he took me seriously). I had an abscess somewhere.. not sure exactly where since my doctors were unable to see it. The abscess periodically leaked into my mouth, which became more noticeable recently due to the dreadfully disgusting taste.
..So by swallowing the toxins produced by this infection over a period of time (longer than a month), other parts of my body were beginning to show symptoms: no appetite, headaches, general malaise, extreme tiredness, muscle aches.. my lower back was killing me. Basically, the infection spread because no one could tell where it was coming from and I wasn't receiving proper treatment.
Solution: Penicillin. Saved my sanity. I no longer feel like I'm 20 going on 90 years old.
It's possible that other similar symptoms are related to infection. I had multiple infections in my body, contributing to the a lot of my problems. It wouldn't hurt to try a round of antibiotics.
***Disclaimer: Penicillin is dangerous for anyone who may be allergic (your genetics will usually tell you), but fear not. There are many other antibiotics which work as well. :]

So...I have had many of the same symptoms. I got mono my Freshman year of high school and ever since I can't seem to stay well. Thanks to the mono my joints are now permanently screwed up. When the infection entered my body it also infected my joints. Last year I was very sick, I went about 6 months without a diagnosis. It turned out that I have virtually no vitamin D in my body, it can't absorb it on it's own. Once I got my vitamin D levels in order I was fine. I thought that I was done with all these health problems but they started again this year. For about a month I have been extremely tired, my stomach hurts me on and off and my head always hurts. I hardly ever want to do anything with my friends and I get teased for going to bed so early but I can't help it I just can't ever stay awake. I have no idea what's wrong and I just want to get better...

Ok people,
I am 28. I was very healthy up until about 4 years ago when my world literally fell apart. Sence then I have been diagnosed with everything under the sun. I have muscular dystrophy, vasovagal syncope, chronic sinus infections, chronic allergies, and migraines. I have high blood pressure and high cholersterol. And I can tell you from everything that I have been through very little thing in your body is related in some way. It may very well be refered pain. Recently I found out I have a problem with blood clots, as one nearly killed me. On top of that I have had stomach issues for years. I have never had regular periods, so when I was 17, I was put on birth control. Now I am on a different kind of birth control because the just found out the I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, with a large cyst in my left ovary. Aside from that I recently underwent surgery to have my gallbladder removed as it was no longer working. After 2 weeks of recovery I went back to a full work load, both school and work. Big mistake. I got mono. And now mono is giving me more problems. Severe stomach pain, chest pain, headaches, so sleepy I can barely get through the day. At first my doc thought I was going through another bought of diverticulitis (agian), but after testing its just mono, but its been 4 months and has not cleared up. So people, please do not try and diagnos yoursleves. It's not worth it. There is so much going on with the human, body that one cannot possibly know. Now I am no fan of doctors. I have been mistreated, and misdiagnosed, told it's all in my head... but when you find that one doctor that believes you, stick with them.

I am an 18 year old female. I cannot eat, but i keep gaining weight. Every other day i get weird stomach pains, i am always nauseus and i have no urge to excercise or move. No matter what i do nothing helps, not even a healthy diet. I crave drinks, any kind as long as its a liquid thats all i can consume. I am miserable and upset. At first i thought it may be pregnancy, but now im getting periods. My periods get shorter but the pain i feel during them is excruciating. If anyone has even a suggestion of what this may be, i'll be willing to listen.

Just thought id ask...have any of you considered taking a pregnancy test? Swollen breasts, stomach pains, fatigue, weakness, and loss of apetite are all symptoms of pregnancy. Just thought you all should know that.

I have similar symptoms to almost everyone here. I had mono over the summer, so I thought that my symptoms were lingering. But I gained a significant amount of weight this year and my appetite is either huge or nonexistent. I'm extremely fatigued and can often barely get out of bed. I recently got this weird rash on my face, and I was put on an antibiotic but it still hasn't completely cleared even after over two weeks. I get headaches almost every day.
I think that we should all get checked for lupus. I looked up the symptoms and they sound very similar.

I am having these exact same symptoms. I actually ended up in the ER after another sleepless night and blood in my stool. The doctor shrugged it off as nothing serious and told me I was "backed up." I am sure there is something else going on. Thanks for reassuring me that I am not alone. I feel like I have been sick forever. I would recommend "Sitz Baths" though, they help with the cramping. Good luck to all! Oh and yes, I am also a 20 year old female. I am on birth control and have endometriosis.
