Kelaria if you want lasting relief from panic attacks you have to attack the cause which is the inaccurate way you process your thoughts. Learn to use a TEA form and replace those thinking errors that cause the panic with more realistic thoughts and you will likely feel a lot better. Good luck!

hi i have read over some of the post and over the past 25 years i have also had many of the symptoms that many of you younger people are suffering. im only 40 and occassionaly still get the chest pains and the feelings of panic- but you have to believe me when i say to you all that it is psycological and anxiety. i have every test over the years, i have been in A&E with suspected heart attacks and in cardiac units- which only makes it all worse-you will all learn in time to control these feelings that are very frightening and at times terrifying-it is a case of mind over matter- pills will only make it worse and doctors are usually limited in what you can do to relieve your symptoms- once u can control your symptoms with rational thoughts and relaxation- ur lives will be better and your symptoms will cease or at least lessen.herbal remedies such as bachs rescue remedy is a great help, relaxation tapes are also good and being able to talk to someone about any unlying problems is essential-

It is patronizing to dismiss these symptoms as anxiety and panic attacks. I think people would know if they were having panic attacks. I feel dizzy, fatigued, and lightheaded all the time. My cousin was recently diagnosed with a heart defect from birth because he eventually passed out and had to be rushed to the hospital. The only way they could see the defect was to put a camera up through his leg and into his heart. There was a defect in an artery which would not show up on an x-ray. Any of you feeling this way should look into getting your heart tested more thoroughly.

i have experienced all of these symptoms occasionally for the past 2weeks now.

the first time it happened i had a tingly light headed feeling, and short of breath i was worried i couldn't feel my pulse. %-)

i was told to just calm down relax and breathe.. it was anxiety or stress. it was non of these as im perfectly happy :-D , it just happened.

my legs started shaking cos i was so panic'd at what had happened. and i wondered what is this. as im only 16 to..
i went to doctors today he said nothing appears to be wrong, but to make sure a blood test !!. at least i know now i wasn't making it up.

people also experience this my age . :-D probably just one of them things i will grow out of. o.O

It's always good to get checked and make sure your anxiety symptoms are not the result of a physical cause. However most anxiety and panic symptoms are not caused by heart defects etc. I always thought mine were and was on a lot of meds for a long time before getting off my meds and getting my life back thanks to cognitive behavioral therapy aka CBT.

On a side note is anyone else not receiving posts notifications? Several threads including this one I am not getting any on despirte there being replies?

Good job getting checked out and ruling physical probs out. Now try and join a CBT group or start countering your thoughts in the TEA form to get yourself some relief.

I feel the exact same way. Everyone says its anxiety but I dont believe it. I dont feel stess or anything and it still comes to me. THe pain stay forever and I lose my breath...sometimes I lose my breath all together and cant breathe and the lightheadedness makes it worse... :( I go to the doctor and they said, "The body is under stress even when you dunno it." Well...that's stupid bcuz if you're happy then seriously?! How can your body be under stress? Even if so would a 3 year old todler have stress Most likely not. I've had this my whole life and I've got a straight answer that makes sense :!: :!: :!:

Just hazarding a guess here but have you been to a therapist before? The thing is without a source for something like this, it looks quite a bit like it could be anxiety. Can you give us an update? Or at least let me know? Thanks :)

Everyone that has posted something about feeling dizzy, lightheaded, and shortness of breath..... I don't think that it is just from anxiety......it is probably just from your diet, and you need to start eating more healthier foods to have more energy. I have the same symptoms and I see a doctor for it. He basically just told me that I needed to start eating better and to stop eating sugar, cut down on the milk and white bread. Also he suggested that I should be taking Magnesium vitamins, they support nerve, muscle and heart function. So if you are someone that does suffer from anxiety, try taking those it can help.

Hi
I know you posted that question ages ago but I was googling those symptoms as I have them. Lately Ive been lightheaded and out of breath all of the time and it is scary as its definitely not a reaction to too much activity. I am feeling lightheaded sitting down and out of breath just standing still having a conversation.
I have low blood pressure, a thyroid condition and anxiety so I used to pass out all of the time and I still see stars occassionally. But this out of breath thing is something new and awful.
I doubt we can diagnose each other or offer medical solutions but I think it always helps to talk about it as then you know there are other people going through the same thing.
