It's been 1 week since I had my procedure. I am in sssooo much pain. I have percocet, valium and hydromorphine. I was given lidoderm hydrochloride Jelly and that has yet to numb the area. I have gas, which hurts to pass and I am in ssssoooo much pain when I try to have a BM. This surgery rates #1 on the list of americas most not wanted surgerys. I am taking milk of magnesia and I am trying to drink lots and lots of water a day to see if I will have an easier time trying to pass a watery stool. My advice to anyone thinking of having this procedure is "DON'T DO IT, unless it is causeing you life threatening problems. THis is worse that giving birth to a child. To those who have done like me,and messed up and had the procedure done, good luck with your recovery, cause just when you think it's getting better, you have a set back. Prayer helps better than the medication.

How are things proceeding? My wife had her procedure 5 days ago and has only succeeded in passing one, very small stool after hours of agony. I am quite concerned as her abdomen is very swollen. However, she has had a lot of high fiber foods, but no outlet yet.
A friend of hers that had it 20 years ago said it will take 8 weeks before it seems worth it.
