how can i help a person who is alcohol dependence, alcohol abuse and a binge drinker and what causes these problems?

Causes for abuse of alcohol are very different and there isn’t a single one. In most cases people just start to drink socially – because everyone does it, and when they later in life find themselves in tough situations or feel disappointed, alcohol provides them positive feelings. It doesn’t take long for the body to become addicted to this substance and that’s when things get very complicated.
First step in helping someone with alcohol problems is facing that person with situation he/she has put himself and people who care about him. That in most cases is the toughest part, for the alcoholic to admit there is a problem. How does this person you’re talking about react to confrontation about the problem?

Confront that person and make them realize that they do need help. There might be a reason why they're troubled, figure that out to at least resolve some of the issues involved. It's also important to reassure them that you're there for them but the main thing they need is to be free from being dependent on drugs and alcohol.
