How can I stop my period once started without the use of prescription birth control medication?

I kinda agree with the blood thinning point, whenever i drink a lot of alcohol on a night out mine stops until the alcohol is out of my system.

Its a type of blood then that's how it works to stop the pain that's why you're not supposed to have any during surgery

Actually it is completely safe to take that much if your dr agrees I take 3 ib 500mg 2-3 times a day for a chronic pain condition however to stop a heavy flow you shouldn't take anything ibuprofen/ trans acid etc for more than 4 days as it will mess up cycle if your AF is there and substantial for more than 8 days there is a tablet (northisterone(sp)) you can get from your GP

How much gelatin did you take to completely stop your period? I am having breakthrough bleeding even though I am on birth control and it has lasted more than a month. It's a few drops but it stops me from having spontaneous sex! I took it two days in a row, and it seemed to slow it down. Did you take the gelatin once every day? Multiple times a day?

Ibuprophen works! I used it to delay my period last month for three days. I have also used it to stop my period early as the above answer said.

The gelatin thing isn't too bad, if you dissolve it in your morning tea or coffee. just drink it while it's hot and put honey or sugar in it. Thing is, i think it takes 4 or 5 cups of gelatin tea to completely stop it.

ibuprofen is a blood thinner but it also acts on prostaglandins to stop bleeding. It does work for some but not me :(

I don't know who came up with most of these ideas but I was dumb enough to try some of them to stop my period and nothing worked. The ibuprofen didn't work, the gelatin made my stomach hurt and I had trouble pooping after I drank it, the lemon juice was a fail, and as for the vinegar I bought it but once I smelled it I was like he'll no. After searching and searching the web I came to the conclusion that its best to just let things be and instead of trying to stop my period there had to be a way I would still have intercourse without making a mess. I found this product called Instead SafeCup. These are cups that you insert like a tampon but you can have sex, swim, and pretty much anything with without having to worry about leaking unless your a heavy bleeder. And you can wear it up to 12 hours with no side effects. They sell them at Walgreens and Walmarts. They will run you about $9 for a pack of 14. Hope this helps!!

The ibuprofen didn't work. But either the lemons or the gelatin did!!! I mixed up the gelatin and squeezed lemon in it then sucked on the lemon after. That was the most disgusting thing I've ever drank in my life and I almost puked. But hey, it worked!!!! After about three hours my period stopped for about six hours.
