Ibuprofen works for me. I take 3 every 3 hours on the day that my period comes on and it only stays on for a day and a half.

Ibuprofen does NOT have aspirin in it. They are both a non steroidal anti-inflammatory and both have their effect on the COX2 pathway, however, ibuprofen does not have the thromboxane a-2 inhibitory effect on platelets that aspirin does. This gives aspirin it's 'blood thinning' capabilities. Ibuprofen does not have this capability.
My specialty is not gynae, however, if I had to take a guess I would say that ibuprofen may settle local endometrial inflammation in the cervix that may help some women. However, anything that effects the endometrial layer has the possibility of worsening menstral bleeds. We see this commonly as different women respond differently to the many longer term contraception methods that have its effect inside the cervix.

No, I am sorry. You would need to use birth control in order to manipulate your period.

No but you can stop it fairly promptly with any Oral contraceptive Pill within a few days as long as you are taking the active hormone tablet and not the placebo tablets that many pharmaceutical companies package in their product to allow for a week of withdrawal bleeding to mimic the normal menstrual cycle.

Sahar, I am sorry to hear that these changes have effected you so negatively. The truth is there are ways to stop the menstrual cycle but none that I would suggest for you at this time. The menstrual cycle is necessary for fertility and although you may not think you will ever want children down the line at this point in your life, most peoples' opinions to this change as they get older.

I would however recommend that you chat with a female adult whether it be a parent, relative, friend or counsellor who you are comfortable with to discuss your aversion to these changes to your body as sometimes a little bit of knowledge, information or support can make all of the difference.
