Well, the first thing you need to figure out is what kind of running back are you? Are you a speed back or power back?

You appear to have the speed at 4.6, but do you also posess agility and good balance as well? These qualities can be aquired through practice. A good coach will help you with these. A speed and finesse runner needs not only these qualities but excellent vision and situational awareness too. While these things can be learned, they are more often than not natural abilities.

Now a power back is the easier of the two types to become, assuming of course you have the size as well as the speed. Power backs are generally brute force type runners, demolishing the opponent with brute strength. Learning the basic skills a good coach can teach, along with the desire to be good on your part will help to make you a good football player.

So, I guess my summary advice is decide what kind of running back you wish to be. It will depend in part on your size, in part on your natural abilities. Your coach can show you all the necessary practice skills to make you a competent running back. To become a great running back, however, depends on how much effort you are willing to put forth and how much desire you have.
