Is it possible to be infected by molloscum contageosum during sexual intercourse? I didn’t realize that is STD until one of my friends got it. He believes that he got it from the girl he‘ve been seeing. Is it possible that she trnasmmited him the infection during sex?

As I know the molloscum contageosum belongs to a group of STD’s infections that could be passed on through skin-to-skin contact. Like herpes, lice or warts….so it is possible that he got it from her during sexual intercourse. It is even possible to get a sexually transmitted infection even when there has been no ejaculation because infections can be spread from the pre ejaculation or from the skin-to-skin contact that happens during sexual intercourse.

molloscum can be transmitted by any dermal contact, such as from used towels or bedding, etc. it doesn't have to be directly through direct sexual (or not sexual) contact.
