The odds of you or someone similar to you answering is small, but having withdrawal symptoms for 30 days after smoking 10 times is unusual. What happened since?

Can anyone posting their problems here follow up after some months with an update? Just like you want answers there will be many others in the future wanting the same.

I started smoking about 3 years ago, about a 2 gs a week. I am a health freak, and exercise on a daily basis. I am on day 3 and I have chills, hand sweats, blurred vision, loss of appetite and headaches. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!!

Mate try smoking for 20 years then quit! I think then you will realize that weed is very addictive. 5 years is not long enough to give an accurate description

First off I have been smoking since 13-18, with the exclusion of a couple tolerance breaks here and there to make the effects of weed much more potent. Very bad section of my life to be high constantly. But it was always around, I had so much temptation. After stopping , attempting Sleeping was horrible but the dreams were amazing, so vivid and real. A lot of times I wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat , laying a towel on my bed where I lay and keeping on around me to dry off is very helpful. Also helps to keep your room that you sleep in as cold and dry as possible. Sometimes I just sleep in a sheet or have the blanket only covering my legs, and a small sheet to wrap up in. NUMBER 1 ADVICE TO HELP SLEEP, is work out. Do lots of things to stay busy, walk, ride bike, and run until you can't run anymore ( when you start throwing up/ dry heaving.) carry around a gallon jug of water and make sure you drink the whole thing and then some throughout the day as this will help greatly with making food more consumable aswell as cleaning out your body . If it's nice outside and the suns out, ,sun bath , this will make you tried aswell and help sleep . If you have trouble eating, my go to food is rice, just take small bites while watching tv or whatever and work your way up to more filling things. whatever you do DONT take a hit of pot no matter how small, This is something that may lasts you months, don't give up

I am 53 and smoked pot daily since age 30. I stopped 30 days ago as well I drank Pepsi everyday for 20 years. I had panic attacks and went to emergency 15 times thinking I was having a heart attack but they told me there was no pain so it was panic...I only have sweating now..no caffeine or THC in my body. I also smoked a pack and a half of cigarettes and in the last two weeks have cut down to 20....I feel much better and look forward to being drug and symptom free in another month or two. My doctor gave me antidepressants wellibutrin and anxiety meds to help with the withdrawals but the anxiety meds are very addicting so I take only when I can't sleep. I will go off the meds in a couple of months when the withdrawals stop but will have to wean off them. The meds make me sleep so I don't get more anxious and the depressants help me not crave caffeine..THC and nicotine. I hate the symptoms of feeling like I am having a heart attack or I wouldn't take the meds...soon I'm not going to be on anything can't wait....:)

I'm 62 and been smoking daily since I was 17. It's ruined many aspects of my life. I quit yesterday, now drinking a half cup of red wine in the AM and Pm and it helps with the anxiety.

I agree with this post. I have smoked since I was 15, now 41 and I stop smoking every so often just to take a break. It can make it tough to get perfect sleep for about a week or so because of crazy vivid dreams, but nothing unmanageable. You just have to exercise more to make sure you are tired before bed, read books at bedtime to help make yours eyes tired, and make sure to stay busy during the day to help with the increased anxiety that comes with quitting. Remember, weed is a natural anti-anxiety medicine, so when people stop using it they feel or stressed because their body's are used to having help from the THC and other compounds in marijuana. All of the sudden they have to deal with normal daily stress without the help from Mary Jane.

I have a feeling that most of the people in here making it sound like quitting is the end of the world have other stuff in their lives triggering their anxieties and sleeping issues. Ages 18-30 can be extremely stressful times in people's lives. Weed is the ultimate sleep aid, and when people all of the sudden don't have it they quickly realize they have sleeping issues due to their stressful lives; and also probably from a lot of psychosomatic effect - especially after reading all these overblown horror stories in this thread.
