So hearing you, it's hell isnt it. I've given up before and it was bad but not as bad as I have experienced this time and I've been desperately asking myself those same questions. I have accessed some of the support groups we have available and they all say it is very real and can be very scary. You will get better, hang in there. Sleep, walk, drink water and remember that you are strong and will come through

Your 25 and you been there and that yea. You sound like my teenage daughter knowing it all... yes people minds ARE addicted In some way to the weed. Just cause you can read a few books and your experiences you had means that you know it all. Someone smoking for 30 years you can relate to yea. No thats more than you whole life. Sounds to me these strong be big man drugs withdrawals have really messed your head. It's not bad but they are withdrawals from withdrawing weed for yourself. That was a selfish comment for people to read that ARE having REAL withdrawals, not as bad but real. And my dad died trying to quit a much heavier drug but that don't make it more real one bit. Drugs are drugs and there all real and all bad. Hope you quit the so called real stuff by now

I am 26 years old and have been smoking since I was 16. I became a daily pot smoker at 17 and by the time I was 18, I was smoking multiple times a day. At 20 years old, I was smoking 4-5 times a day on weekdays, and about 7-8 times on the weekend. I would always smoke minimum a bowl pack, sometimes a J. I quit cold turkey 3 days ago, and its been very hard. Cold sweats, sleepless nights, very weird vivid dreams, anxiety, mood swings, no appetite, pretty much everything that everyone else is feeling. I also keep questioning myself why am I even quitting? Is it even worth it? Then I begin to think why I wanted to quit in the first place. Everyone has a reason for wanting to quit. You need to remind yourself daily why your quitting and asure yourself that you will be better off without it. When the crave hits me, I quickly find ways to distract my brain from thinking about weed. Try watching a full season of a show you like. Excercising helps keep your mind off of it and will help you detox faster. Cut ties with people you know smoke weed. Change your living enviorment and daily routine as well. Think of quitting weed as a new life experience. Your whole world will be different so change your habits and hobbies. The things you like to do when your high will be different than the things you want to do when your sober. If there is one thing that holds true for everyone, is that you will feel motivated once your sober. Im sure theres many things you always wanted to do but weed always got in the way. Try out these things now that your sober and you will see what you have been missing.

Well first off I'd just like to say that reading most of these post's have inspired me and shown me that your not alone, I mean I always knew that but to actually read and understand that the feelings I'm feeling are normal is somewhat a bit of closure.
I'm 20, turning 21 next year and had been smoking pot since I was 16, about a gram+ a day.
Whilst smoking, I always felt like it was limiting my potential and always described it as "having a warm blanket over my forhead, which limits my ability's to complete tasks at hand". I wasn't your regular stoner, you wouldn't even know I was stoned, I go to the gym 6 days a week and eat super healthy, I have what I believe is to be normal social skills but then again everyone thinks they're normal?
So just recently i had gotten an apprenticeship which is really what gave me the drive to quit, its been 5 days now and honestly the first 4 I only really suffers from insominia but as the days progress I can feel how not smoking is taking its toll, I'm not eating as much, I'm constantly fatigued, I have the worst sleeps and usually wake up all wet and clammy, I've visited the doctor and had been prescribed some 'melatonin' which is the natural sleep hormone, I'm yet to take it as your not suppose to mix with alcohol and I knew I had some in my system,
But all and all I can focus better in my study's and feel more happier and appreciate the simpler things in life like watching a game of cricket st the local club which is quite interesting for me because I've always hated cricket, whilst stoned I would always just game, gym or watch movies, but know that I've stopped I'm finding myself more, ive takn up surfing and am starting to do more physical activies like bouldering, I really would like to accompany people on the journey to quit and try my best to inspire because it really does make you feel good and no matter what the issue is, your never alone! Life is what you make of it and pot DOES restrict your potential! Don't get me wrong I'd love to blaze up rn but the disappoint ment in myself is what keeps me from not, its all a mental battle and it begins with you!

Considering the fact that you were addicted to this stuff for 15 long years, it will be a pretty long process - I assume. Cheers!

Thank you! I'm reading all of this and am simply flabbergasted. I've smoked on and off, mostly on for 30+ years and every time I quit it is no big deal. A few more vivid dreams (which I don't mind at all) and otherwise NOTHING. Sleep is fine, health is fine, the only thing I ever felt when quitting was a pull to use again when bored, depressed or irritable. At this point I just don't seem to need it anymore. Maybe its because I'm meditating instead, and doing yoga. Y'all should try that.

Here is another one with absolutely no idea what he is talking about. Everyone is different and Ganja effects people in different was as does quitting. If you have nothing to add to the thread, keep your judgmental opinion to yourself.

yeah ive been heavily into working out im trying to go for 6 days of full body workouts a week. ive also tried to quit smoking herb to save money. i have been smoking it every day since i was 13 and i am now 22. it was going fine until 4 days in when i started to get an achey torso and shoulders and my lungs were also feeling sore i also had the nagging feeling like i needed to burp. i thought maybe i hurt myself while working out but i havent found any time that would have happend i dont remember it atleast. i took 1 toke to see if it may be withdrawls and it all went away in a matter of hours. are these normal withdrawl symptoms? i never thought weed would actually give u aces and pains. is there any ways i could minamize these aces and pains i dont want it to impede my exercising. would slowly weening myself be better then going cold turkey? also how long do the symptons usually last?
