How long should I wait to have sex after hysterectomy

Hi honey! Usually about 4 - 6 weeks! This depends on if they took the cervix or not! IF you have sex before the sutures close where the cervix was, sperm can get into the abdominal cavity and search out an egg - IF you kept your ovaries! and CAN cause pregnancy - it's called "Etopic Pregnancy" Conception happens and then the embryo attaches to a blood source - usually the bladder, bowel, intestine! And this is life threatening! Also you need to be able for your organs to get back to normal after the shock! And IF you have had your bladder attached to your abdominal wall, you will need to wait till ALL is well! Hope this helps! Good luck and health!
