Which are more effective, crunches or situps? And how many do you have to do to tone up in 34 days?

i find both crunches AND situps to be very effective. usually i do about 50 crunches forward. 25 to the left. and 25 to the right. when i do situps usually i just do them for the length of one song that im listening to you. (its good that way because you dont pay attention to the time and you listen to the song).i also do side planks. which helps tone your oblique and butt ;-) well, i hope this helped! goodluck!

Crunches are just the part of situps that work the abs; once you get to a certain point in a situp the rest of the movement is just strain on your lower back in order to get to the upright position. Therefore situps can cause problems with your lower back but aren't really any more effective than crunches. I do 4 times 25 crunches a day which seems to work well. Hope this is helpful.
