Hi. I`m gay and I keep that as a secret. My parents think that I have a gf, but that girl is just a friend of mine. Don`t know how to come out of the closet. Help!

Hi. I`m gay and all of my friends know about that. My parents also. They were shocked, at first, but now it`s all fine. My Mom always say “you`re still my son”, “I love you” and Mom-stuff like that. My father is also cool, but think that he has hopes that I will “wake up” one day and find a nice girl. Sorry, I like boys. How to come out of the closet? You will have to open the doors before anybody else does. The easiest way is to tell the truth, no matter how painful.

Gosh, it's different for different people. Everyone I love knows and they treat my partner as part of the family. We've been together 16 years now.
I came out to my sister first, she promptly informed my mother. I didn't give a sh*t if my dad knew or not (long story). My mother didn't like my first partner, I took that to mean she didn't accept me...but it was because my first partner didn't treat me well - my Mom could tell I was unhappy.
I have known gays and lesbians that have been kicked out of their homes by their parents. And I know some that were embraced by their family.
My suggestion is, tell the parent you are closest to. I wish you luck!
