I would like to get some muscle mass. I am not sure how to do it since I hear many different advices. I would appreciate if you can give me some advice on strengthening leg muscles. My friends told me that leg extensions and hamstring curls are the best. The others say opposite. Who should I listen to?

While leg extensions and hamstring curls are valuable exercises and have their place in a training program you have to do squats and leg presses if you want to develop large quads and hamstrings. They are basic compound lifts which include many muscles beside quads and hamstrings and promote the growth of a new tissue to a greater extent than any other exercise. Leg extension and leg curls are good isolation exercises and are usually used when training for definition.
