I was volunteered to train some youth in track and everyone wanted to know how to run faster. Is there any good responses to this question other than train harder.

Look into interval training, start with short run and later do long run interval training.

I have been running everyday except on weekends for about 4-5 miles average for the past 6 years or so. I have found that crossfit exercising can greatly your endurance. Endurance will help you run longer and farther, but if your endurance is high enough then you will be able to run faster longer as well. another great thing to consider is circuit training or 60-120's (run full speed as hard as you can for 60 seconds then jog at a comfortable pace for 120 sec. or 2 min. do this for about 30-60 mins) The 60-120's are probably my favorite technique.
