I am trying to get a answer to a question. My husband had a detached retina that the surgeon fixed and put a gas bubble in the eye to hold in place. He was doing great and two weeks later his doctor went on vacation. The visiting doctor used a tool like a dental tool with a round smooth end and probed all over the eye, under the lid, upper and lower as well as corners. He was in pain during the exam and when she was done she said he had a tear. After the second surgery his original surgeon said a tear and another detachement. Should a doctor pull, and tugged the eye during an exam on someone who just had the retina put back in place?
