No I don't think so, I wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until I was 30. I had issues with my thyroid, blood pressure and was insulin resistant even though I ate very well and exercised regularly. Maybe there is a link between the ailments rather than the medications used to treat them causing the others.

I've had both for quite some time, and it Does bring the mental acuity back, but suddenly my thyroid level tanked to a .85 and the doc has switched me to a different brand to try to get me back on track, he doesn't want to prescribe more than the150 mcg's I'm on already. I saw that problem during pregnancy too, i was up to a 250 dose almost the whole time.

Yes, it's sounds exactly like hypothyroidism. I had Thyroid Cancer 10 yrs ago and was not put on the right dosage of Synthroid and was never told the strict proper way to take the dose. Subsequently 4 years after my full thyroidectomy I went to the doctor complaining of those exact symptoms and they diagnosed me as bipolar. I spent the last 5 years trying every different antipsychotics in the book, like a lab rat. I went through 13 rounds of electric shock therapy, all to no avail.
Until I do my own research, became my own health practioner advocate for myself whatever you wanna call it. And find out my tsh levels were at 175... which apparently is extremely bad.
Whatever you do make sure you do all your research before you let someone label you crazy. I went to the hospital 3x with this... 2 week stints in the crazy house wanting to kill myself.
Good luck, always

A lot of ADD symptoms are attributed to low T3 and T4 levels. Hypothyroidism creates brain fog which looks like an inability to focus. I would treat the hypothyroidism, and I bet the ADD symptoms go away. Big Pharma just doesn't want us to know this...

Soy is known to be bad for the thyroid. So I am not certain why someone would add it.

Soy actually isn’t something you should eat with thyroid problems as it effects your metabolism . It is a good your should stay away from.

I am peri menopausal, have hypothyroidism and ADD. I was just diagnosed with Lupus. I am really hoping the specific tests show drug induced lupus since that is reversible. But the fatigue is off the charts even with my higher dose thyroid med. I only take 20mg of Adderall extended release, it’s not a high dose but anything more causes me to clench my jaw. I would say yes that Adderall helped me until the Lupus showed up.
