I have been going through the very same thing! I have been menopausal for 7 years. I had thyroid cancer when I was 31 and was in synthroid for 20 years. A new doctor put me on Armor thyroid and it helped. Two years ago I began taking Adderall for the forgetfulness, and to help with focus. It has helped however, I do not take it daily. Must take it early so as not to disturb sleep, which I have had problems with since menopause. My weight is fine but I do worry about my heart

Hi, guest.

Thyroid function can impact almost every aspect of health, including cardiovascular health, metabolism, mood, and cognition. Both Synthroid (levothyroxine) and Armour Thyroid are used to treat hypothyroidism, but they work slightly differently. Armour contains both T3 and T4 hormones, while Synthroid contains only T4. Some patients feel better on one medication compared to the other. It's crucial to monitor thyroid levels regularly to ensure that they're within the appropriate range.

Adderall is an amphetamine-based medication primarily used to treat ADHD. It can have cardiovascular side effects, including increased heart rate and elevated blood pressure. Because of this, patients with certain heart conditions or risk factors need to be closely monitored while taking it. Regular follow-ups with your doctor and periodic cardiovascular assessments are important if you continue to use Adderall.

Regular cardiovascular check-ups are essential, especially as one ages. This would typically include monitoring blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and other cardiac risk factors. You might also consider seeing a cardiologist for a comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessment, especially if you have any family history of heart disease or other risk factors.

Stay safe!
