I have been using oxycontin for a while, and I have a physical addiction. It's not mental, I hate the things at this point, I want nothing more than to get off of them. I have a few 10mg methadone pills. I was wondering if I could take them for 3 days or so, to get through the toughest part of the Oxy withdrawal and go cold turkey from there? I mean, I know I can do it, but will the methadone help me by making my withdrawal any easier. I know most ppl taper down over time, but I dont have that kinda time, so is this a better option than going straight cold turkey??? Thanks for your help.

Yes those methodone will help majorly!! That's what I've done when I've ran out of oc's is try to find methodone. The key is to split those 10's in half and take half a day. Trust me you won't feel great but it will help with all the wd's and they won't be near as bad!! Do that until your out of those M's and by then the oc's will b close to being out of your system, not quite but close. But yes methodone is a life saver when you facing the he'll of withdrawls! Hope this helps, and everyone is different but if I had three that would be my suggestion. Take it for what it's worth but good luck!! Been there and will prob be there shortly myself so I know all about it!!!
