I had a complete hysterectomy when I was 33 yrs old. I am now 34 yrs old and so desperately want to have a baby. Is there any way that I can carry a baby if someone donates an egg and it is fertilized with my husband's sperm and inserted into my abdomen? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

My uterus was removed, but I have heard of intrabdominal pregnancy. Does anyone know if this can be done intentionally?

Hi RDN,

Sorry, no.  While there are documented cases of intra-abdominal pregnancies, the uterus is still present and the placenta remains attached to it.  Without a uterus, there is no way for a placenta to attach and nourish the fetus.

Adoption is an alternative.
