I am a sixteen year old female and I think I have genital psoriasis. I know it is not contagious but genetic and that makes sense because my twin has psoriasis all over her body so I am likely to get it as well-same DNA and all. Any way I have red thicker skin surrounding my vagina-my vagina is otherwise totally normal and the psoriasis does not go actually onto my genitals -the skin that is red often is dry and some what flaky and itchy. On a good day the skin is just really bright and sort of rough, on a bad day its cracking and bleeding, with lots of white skin flakes. This also affects near my anus as well, there is dryness near the beginning of my bum crack and painful splitting surrounding the bum hole. I am a virgin and  I am very concerned about this skin issue. I know that psoriasis wont be given to my potential partner, but I think its definitely something embarrassing  I will have to discuss with them. It's more emotional issue than a physical one, when dealing with sex. But I am still worried about physical issues too. Will sex hurt or be uncomfortable for both me and my partner? I would go to a doctor but I am not sure as to how I should bring it up with my mother to get me the appointment, if at all. I am currently in a relationship and I can see that my boyfriend wants to get a bit more physical with me. I want to also but am hesitant so I keep him at bay. I feel really bad because I trust him and want to have sex with him, but I am worried about it not being normal because of my skin. Also is oral sex out of the question? My vagina is fine, but the surrounding area (pubic hair region) is what is affected. Sorry for writing so much, I am just really worried, please help! I need advice!
