It is most certainly UC and not cancer, so dont get so much tensed. Though UC has no cure, i also had similar symptoms. red bleeding with mucus and i had to go about 4-5 times, though it was not lose. I was given lialda (have to take 2) every day. Doctor says its for ever i have to take, but yes right from the day i started taking i have no further bleeding. its been about 6 months. i think its long time gone into remission, but i have to still keep taking the med for long time.
let us know how it went. best of luck.

I had colonoscopy once and endoscopy twice.
I felt nothing.believe me ,doctor will give you anesthisia(make you sleep) and later doctor will inject some air via small wire which will streached the area wide open andthen doctor will insert small thin wire that has camera and examin for abnormalities. I am 23 yrs old and i had first endoscopy at 22yrs age and then after i had two times colonoscopy.
What i can tell you is,go to your doctor and consult it first before it get worse.your first priority is go to the doctor.

Don't ignore rectal bleeding and go for the complete colonoscopy. It can save your life. I waited almost too late, but I'm still here thankfully because of good doctors.

I think we all need to qet checked I got a colonoscropy when i was 15 yrs old not painful at all. ut have had rectal bleeding mucus and rectal inflamation for ten years comes on and off ut, i do blame it to the poor eating habits. It becomes better whn I eat healthy drink lots of water and excercise that helps ALOT try it and try TUCKS suppositories. It's better to spend a lil money n be safe don't risk IT. Hope the best for all! :)

My problem is that I HAD a colonoscopy 10 yrs ago, but my Dr. 73 yrs old at the time, did not addrs the fact he could not complete it.. the nurse whispered to me: ''get another Dr'' Well, I have been going to this Dr since age 9, so I wanted to trust.............when I started having rectal bleeding, he just shouted: ''NO''!! Whatever! at 83, he finally retired,, but now I am too worried I waited to late, and I should NEVER have trusted ... should have seeked 2nd opinions.......now pain/twising in lower left quadrant......too scared to get help...probably too late anyway

This is for anyone fearing to have a colonoscopy performed. Trust me, the worst part of the procedure is cleansing of the intestines the day prior to surgery. Once you are at the clinic/hospital and are on the gurney in the procedure room, and you are given the anesthesia you will wake up from a sleep back in recovery. Absolutely nothing to it.

Get on rhemicade infusions. It saved my husbands life. His Crohnes has been in remission for 13 years. Insurance companies don't want to pay because it's an expensive drug. Find a Doctor who does infusions and someone who will fight to gain insurance approval.

I had these symptoms years ago, and was partially diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. It went away for years without Meds, however the same problems have returned only seemingly with worse symptoms. Haven't had the chance to see a doctor yet as I've moved and need to sign up for one.. But hopefully that's what it is..x

I have similar symptoms and have been going through testing for about 5 years to determine what is going on. I was also told constipation, hemeroids and have been given treatments for both. I have had blood work and a colonoscopy, with a second colonoscopy scheduled in 2 days. What I can tell you is that cancer is a possibility but not a certainty. I have been cleared for cancer, but may have fisures, chrones or IBS. There are many possibilities for what you may have, so don't stress about it yet, get checked and stay healthy. We're all in this together, I'm pulling for ya.

I had a similar issues 2 years ago. The anxity and stress caused me to quit my job because of this issue. Dont get panic, it could be just ulcerative colitis. Im taking salfasalazine 500mg and 5mg wysolone. In the meantime take a proper diet. Avoid all the deep fried food, try to eat more vegitables.chiken once or twice in a weeks. Avoid Wheat, more sugery food items. mild sugar is okay. tender lamb meat is good but not beef or pork meats. you can eat minimum amounts of pulses. Brown rice is good for your health. White rice may leads to constipation. Hope it helps. write me back if you need further more info
