It could be the positions you tried or he could be on the larger side of things or you might have vaginismus(spasming of the muscles mostly psychological from fear of being hurt) or it could be a yeast infection or PID or short cervix or even endometriosis... I don't mean to scare but there's many possible reasons for why sex is painful. You can hope that it'll go away on its own and that it can be solved by just relaxing and not being afraid of pain, or you can go get checked out by a doctor to be sure of what it is. Best of Luck!
