I fell at work on some wood playground equipment and landed on my chest. It has been a week and I can not breath hard, cough, laugh, twist my upper body, or putt a lot of weight on my arm with out pain . It feels like some one is pushing on my chest at all times. I started to feel pain in my back to today. I have to role over on my side to get up when laying down. The pain is under my right breast. I know I should see a doctor but have little money. Would keeping my arm in a sling for awhile would it help it any at all. Until I can go to a doctor. I am also just got over bronchidis would this be a reason for so much pain.

Cracked ribs resulting from low-impact falls usually involve closed simple fractures that require no special treatment other than to let them heal naturally. However, if your condition worsens, like if the pain increases in intensity, or if new pains begin to appear elsewhere in the body, then you may have something more serious such as internal bleeding, or bone fragments penetrating other organs. This could become an emergency situation requiring prompt surgical intervention. That is why doctors always take x-rays to make sure that this is not the case. Your back pain may have resulted from a combination of bronchitis and cracked ribs, or the fall may have caused compression fractures of your vertebrae that did not manifest themselves initially, but have progressively become worse with the passage of time. Osteoporosis and osteopenia can predispose a person to this kind of injury. For the sake of your well-being, I urge you to visit a clinic and have x-rays taken on your chest and back as soon as possible.
